Saju means “four pillars.” Each birth-chart column contains a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Our guides separate what you can observe in those symbols from the meanings traditionally attached to them.

  1. Begin with the four pillars

    Learn what the year, month, day and hour columns mean, and why a chart is not a verdict about a person.

  2. Find the Day Master

    Locate the top symbol in the day column. Use it as a reference point, without reducing a person to one element.

  3. Read the five elements carefully

    Follow a worked count of eight visible characters. Learn why a count is different from elemental strength.
